Winter Storm Forces Changes in Marshall Athletics’ Weekly Schedules
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Due to looming winter storm projections in the Tri-State area, Marshall Athletics has announced several game-time adjustments for its events scheduled this weekend. These changes affect both men’s and women’s basketball games, as well as a swimming meet.
Impact of Winter Storm on Marshall Athletics
Marshall Men’s Basketball will shift its home game against ULM, originally set for 5 p.m. on Thursday, to a new start time of Noon at the Cam Henderson Center. This adjustment was made at the request of the Sun Belt Conference to better accommodate the schedule amid the winter weather situation. Gerald Harrison, the Vice President and Director of Athletics at Marshall, acknowledged the seriousness of Winter Storm Fern. He emphasized that safety was the priority for both players and fans.
Adjusted Game Schedule
The following changes have been confirmed for Marshall Athletics events:
- Thursday, Jan. 22:
- Noon – MBB vs. ULM (previously 5 p.m.)
- 6 p.m. – WBB at Southern Miss (previously 7 p.m.)
- Friday, Jan. 23:
- 3 p.m. – WBB at ULM (moved from Saturday)
- Saturday, Jan. 24:
- 9:30 a.m. – SWIM vs. Toledo (previously 11 a.m.)
- Noon – MBB vs. South Alabama (previously 4 p.m.)
